the taylor boys
Thanks for the booking, we are looking forward to being on your show. We do need directions. And a copy of any questions you may ask.
* * * * *
hi! This is Frank. First I do the interview impromptu. So nobody knows what I will ask. So if the boys are uncomfortable with that, we should not do the show. If they are comfortable with that, how much set up time do they need?
In Freedom,
Frank Moore
* * * * *
Its not that The Taylor Boys are uncomfortable, their management is. Being it is impromptu, we would prefer a more structured interview. At this time we will have to decline the opportunity.
Thank you for your support.

then the show is cancelled! We will play the show about the killing of Oscar Grant which we just shot.

ah, yes, Gi! But then great minds think alike no matter how old!
If you ever come to San Francisco, I want you on my show!
Last night I did a rather intense show about the killing of Oscar Grant by the BART cops. We had two black Nation of Islam minsters and an ex- black panther as well as other community members.

FW: volunteering
here's the email i got from kpfa firing me from being a volunteer! the basic story is that i was a volunteer there one day last spring and took some food home from the station. both my roommate and i got food poisoning from the food i brought home and i emailed the owner of the restaurant where the food was from and asked him if he used any artifical ingredients , taste enhancers or any msg like substances in his food. i always know the reactions of my body from certain chemicals since i've been on a fasting/cleansing journey for several years now. my body never lies.. anyway, the restaurant owner had a real bullshit style of communicating and insisted that all his ingredients were of a 'pure, top quality, natural and organic source', though i knew this to be untrue. he was boldy lying and i called him on his insincerity , but told him i would NOT post any negative comments about his restaurant in a public forum such as yelp or other consumer blogs, because he was a small establishment, supporter of public radio, and the big chain restaurants get away with the same type of poisonous taste enhancers without bad publicity, though i was upset that his food made me sick, i still made that promise. anyway, shortly after, i got this email from kpfa.......

Hello Ava--
I find myself in the unfortunate position of having to tell you that you are no longer welcome to volunteer at KPFA. Your aggression towards an establishment that kindly donates food to
volunteers and staff during fund raising periods is/was uncalled for. Regardless of your personal feelings there is no place for this sort of behavior in an environment of mutual support.

POW! POW! Action Art festival 2009
2nd annual mini performance art festival

(SAN FRANCISCO – October 15-18, 2009) – POW! POW! ACTION Art festival 2009 is a 4 evening festival of new ACTION art works that will take place on Thursday October 15th, Friday October 16th, Saturday October 17th, and Sunday October 18th. Co-curated and produced by Alyssa Lee of group A and gal*in_dog AKA Guillermo Galindo, POW! POW! displays “cutting-edgy” work of performers and artists from the Bay Area, New York, Seattle, Philadelphia, Hawaii, Los Angeles, Canada, and Germany.
" The ultimate artists response to the economic melt down…A tax payer/GOP friendly festival. No one penny of tax money ever used to produce it". –POW! POW!
Translation = " Real freedom of expression. No strings attached."
One of the few uncensored festivals in the US, POW! POW! is presented as a response to the ways in which the art scene is managed in the Bay Area and the United States and to the bailout of “too big to fail” arts organizations. Artists have been forced to follow certain aesthetics in order to have their work presented in a gallery or a festival and obligated to create a specific type of work that follows the fiscal sponsor's agenda. Thus, the sponsor gets either to censor the artist or to adapt the art to fit the organization’s specific agenda. The curators of POW! POW! devised a festival where the artist is encouraged to present work without restrictions.
The previous year’s festival, POW! 2008 mini performance art festival was a huge success, generating excitement for performance art and for uncensored expression from artists. This year’s POW! POW! has quadrupled in size and will be even more shocking!
Among many outrageous artists, POW! POW! 2009 will feature daring and controversial performers such as Frank Moore, Keith Hennessey, Michael Namkung, and many others. The content of these shameless pieces are all over the map, ranging from works about volcanic eruptions, underwater explorations of performative hygiene, photographs of souls, wearable art pieces, first dates, electro-mechanical soft sculptures, absurdist hip hop performances, art critiques, interactive video installations, Japanese-American Internment camps, and the ironic and sometimes brutal ideals we teach our children that we consider acceptable.

MISSION STATEMENT
POW! was founded by Kattt Atchley (formerly Kattt Sammon), Alyssa Lee, and gal*in_dog to promote action art. The first POW! was held in March 2008 in San Francisco. The festival was formerly called POW! mini performance art festival, but over time it became clear that what this festival aims to do is to produce and present ACTION art, so the curators/directors changed the name of the festival to POW! ACTION art festival. Each year the curators will add a POW! to the name, hopefully making the 10th POW! ACTION art festival read as POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! ACTION art festival. Or, POW! to the 10th power ACTION art festival.
The POW! POW! festival is not only original in its aesthetics but also in its grass roots community organized model, which is very different from the top down model that has been applied to the arts through Art Organizations over the last 20 years. POW! POW! Is a viable alternative to other conventional performance art festivals and venues. POW! POW! is an invitation to play and experiment new and controversial ideas in front of an audience. The festival is a long time project that creates a community establishing partnerships between artists who believe their performance art doesn’t belong to any pre-established categories.
Barb Aura sent you a message on Facebook...
Thank you so much for having us over! It was great to meet you, Linda & Mikey. I have to admit, I was afraid that Jon & I might be too boring for your show...but from the outset, we both felt like we were just having a conversation with new friends. That's a pretty wonderful way to feel. We walked away smiling from ear to ear and truly look forward to another
conversation with you (plural). I think we will all have more to say to one another, and I promise I won't edit myself next time!
Jon ate the whole cupcake last night because he was starving. Tell (Janet?) it was delicious! I'm finally making the strawberry rhubarb pie tonight - but I have to finish painting the bedroom first. I love painting...even if it's just a wall or a ceiling...it lets your mind wander, y'know?
Warmly,
Barb

shucks, barb! That is my job on the show ... To make people feel like they can talk deeply about life. That never is boring!

Re: A NEW SHOW ON HTTP://WWW.LUVER.COM!
I've been on a pretty transformative trip lately... a lot of chaos in the air... so I have changed the setup of my show once again.
I'm still doing a version of The Rampler on WFMU, but for the Internet, I have switched over to "The Overnightscape Underground". My new philosophy is to treat it less as a "show" and more of a "casual audio place"... but the bottom line is, the recordings are very similar to The Rampler...
http://onsug.com
There is some varied audio stuff in there, but the tracks that start with "ug" (like "ug: System 9"), starting this month, are the ones that are continuing in the tradition of The Overnightscape and The Rampler.
Anyways, just figured I would let you know...
Thanks,
Frank

RE: yo frankie (Ava Bird)
i agree, kpfa sucks!
i was surprised how lousy it was when i moved up here and expected something similar to LA's KPFK, which is WAY better than the sleepy yuppie non-sense of kpfa. plus, they banned me from being a volunteer at the station! how's that for 'community, progressive', uh, um, public radio?...
* * * * *
yep, over the years KPFA has tried [unsuccessfully] to force LUVER from events we both were covering.
Also it has a "self-censorship " policy on late night shows even when legally you can say anything at that time of night.
So why did they bar you from volunteering, Ava?

CHAPTER 14
I like looking into pussies whatever color of trim, or shaved hairs from your skirts. But that does not define what my companion is, or my life and spirituality and why this powerful screw beat loudly. I am not definitely not surrounded by people based upon folds of skin, colors of the bodies, or whatever else painted by nobody. But I screen people to see if they want to get booked up with my whole body, if they are available, practical, willing to jump into possibilities and fully play together within intimacy… Playing adventures, dancing nude, sliding warm juicy sweaty rubbing aroused, smiling outside of themselves, loving life, willing to risk all kinds of ridiculous poems for me, willing to stay together within experimental play together. I don’t have a tape measure for tits, cocks, noses and all other body parts! If you see someone with such a policy of tape measuring, run! We all came from Africa! Yes my companion is willing to melt into possibilities and fully sexual experience with my cock. Well among various other things!
Can I look up your pussy? I don’t really know why we cannot talk that directly. I’ll promise you I will. I don’t really know why the naked female nipples are so dangerous that they need to be covered at all times or reality crumble! All the hill of milky white, sunburn golden brown, Shining black beauty, or whatever comfortable colors of the Nursing infant… Hills of warm juicy flesh pleasure hot can be uncovered bosom of Emma. But the reddish brown tip nipple with the orange yellow surrounding circle of desire of magical orchids have to be covered /hidden under the command of taboo or else everything will go wacky into chaos of the likes of Emma! But this death ray can be squelched by the sheerest of fabric. Of course some dangerous imagination magnified of desire will leak out of sheer spirits. I can travel the thread that has the birth /pleasure hole, the hard satisfaction wand and the grunt outlet all taboo, hidden vices passages… If I squint and get tipsy and twisted perverted blues emotional problems with eating by mouth of my philosophy. After all shitty form of frustration, and sewage pissed flowing green, and crimson blackish patches spread on white underwear and all dirty fun smelly and sewage fish terrified beyond imagination, magnified everything else painted upon folds of skin. I can travel that perverted blues emotional problems with certain faculties of noise of thunder farts. Even if I love a good shit of all colors and shapes comprised between teenybopper and heckle and consistency. But the beautiful warm juicy nipple, the source of the mammal milk of life! What sort of dangerous imagination ray comes from the source of food and comfort? Zones of passion hidden behind taboo, hidden behind vices passages fester twisted perverted blues emotional problems with breathing IMPAIRMENT fatigue, obnoxious flakes of ice separated us from ourselves into conflict with certain destruction, massacred of passion. This is why I look straight up taboo, down blouses, up skirts. Underwear and bras are dams storing up this puss of the mammal unknown freedom, hidden parts of our life including being dirty. They block breathing of hidden parts. Dark depths of hidden bodies melting into juicy nipple are locked up. And nobody asks WHY. Dark magic of fragmentation is why… For isolating explosion of pent-up frustration, smolders in a strange hissing noise of the process of transferring.
What is between F and CK? You know! You just said the word in your mind. Most people over ten would have just said the word in their mind. Even !@#% would have triggered this word in minds. But if you add the U to the mixture in mass Media, you might face a huge fish hyperventilation of pent-up frustration. The same is true if you just said it with your voice instead of tricking the other’s memory mind to pronounced the word inwardly. Nobody ever question this dark magic! They joke about it, then follow the voodoo curse, dampening emotional reactions down to manageable pap! This is the real goal of fragmentation. Kids are cited as who’s protected by the darkness of pent-up frustration. But if this Kid knows what !@#% or F-CK are, he /she is already damned silly. And kids ask about !@#%. So what is the use? And damned silly thirstily-smiling in real life!
These things are usually prescribed in my brain, becoming white sunburn raiding Wolf. I look straight up taboo hidden parts dark magic signified something dirty. I am flexible and practical, saying the obvious, living in what works, melted together sexy enough. I know how life works. But I don’t have a clue about how most people unhappy operate… If they operate under half gone assumptions or whatever! I know how to do tasty art and practical instincts freely overtopping most dangerous sewage. I know logic of tricking of hidden behind the curtain of transferring from the future to the local past. Sufferings ain’t my thing. Fear is healthy if it last less than five minutes. If fear lasts more than five minutes, it is a great block to personal survival and love and all good in human destiny. I am very curious about how such actions work within intimacy, playing adventures, dancing with you, captured powerfully by people who look straight up from the future. Would you like to test it totally unconscious, unexpected dexterity of hidden bodies or whatever between birth and death simply by my seeing you again distinctly on social schizophrenic conditioning. I hope you will!
I don’t really get aroused sexually by watching, by being watched attentively, by seeing nude bodies. I know I proclaimed I was an exhibitionist! I lied! It was hype, a trick of shamanism. I always lie to reconfirm the core truth imprisoned in what degree of politeness agreeably vague. I don’t care to be seen, to be watched attentively. I use it. But it doesn’t arouse me sexually. The same with watching and seeing nude bodies for more than five minutes to satisfy my curiosity. Not really a voyeur either. There are lots of kinds of arousal. I enjoy seeing nude bodies. It artistically turns me on, comforts me, makes me feel good. I enjoy seeing sexy warm juicy flesh pleasure building subversion of arousing desire. It artistically turns me on. But what arouse me sexually, keeping my drift up is touching nude skin warm handling of arousing rubbing friction enliven warmly welcomed to satisfy my curiosity about these Caves of our life, free from rust and more excited and sneaky and that wondering intensified self-confidence and willing bodies melting into juicy sweaty rubbing gently upon my credulity and bob up and down… Going right inside pleasure hole, just cuddling radically and also small intimate sacks of cotton and seeing nude sliding on whims of arousing desire. Will you unbutton all morality and love it? Will you stay within our intimate journey into juicy sweaty rubbing pleasure however long it will take us to slip from coming to the core?
This is a very long chapter. Was it worth it? Just hinted at my motel room for casting my performance of taboos. Just try to capture all of this while you be a female me! Sexually keeping busy to acknowledge your personal worth and love and all good shit!

Frank Moore

I think people like Diva don't have much sense of self-importance. Like we would never run out of a live show for a lot of reasons [caring for the audience, caring for our reputation, survival, etc]. But a main reason why it would not be an option for me is I am so important that it would create such a deep hole by my not being there, I would not want to be responsible for people killing themselves because they could not see me! -

Extraction
I must tell you that in some way there was an immediate reaction with our relationship after your show. The next day it became evident how much we were locked in destructive patterns and old self/other images. We became more concerned with the image of a relationship than the actual connection between us, our hearts, our minds, and the work of being together and sharing an experience. We broke up for 2 days. Kelly released her attachment, her neediness and was finally able to see me as a friend. My temper and anger has waned down to nothing. I feel it directly in my heart now and I can not possibly just give it. In one sense, I died. It died. And that which is said to come with near death experience, that is, having to feel that which you have caused or created or judged in others, came to me, and I took on elements of Kelly that I had judged over our entire friendship/relationship. That lasted for about a day and I was able to Love. Currently, Kelly is dying. Self or egoistic death is painful because it releases all the pain that we've rejected in ourselves and in others and have tried to displace on to others. That fine line between friendship and total commitment with attachment to the image of relationship, the expectations, the desire to change someone, that fine line is the one we are walking. And, of course, we have to change or else wallow in our misery. But the paradox is that you can not try to change anything in order to experience that change.
Furthermore, we recently had a big frustration with Imra and the way that is has, lately, been sort of ignored by our audience. This led to the realization that it became consumed by images that we projected from desires to be a certain type of band. The reason people aren't listening is the same reason that we're more known for our solo work: the soul. The image of our band, Imra, has been consumed and the soul was replaced by images. Our solo work is totally soul based. And now we starting fresh with everything. Its beautiful.
So I have to thank you for your extraction.
Sean
* * * * *
Sean, this means a lot to me! I am glad the show affected you two deeply. Seems like what you are trying to communicate through the band is spiritual love. This is best channeled through your personal relationship of you two and then through the music, sexy uplifting... And more sneaky! That's the key!
And how about your radio show for LUVER?

So Keldamuzik aka Diva showed up on time for her set up . She was with two guys. Mikee was setting her up. But five minutes into the set up, one of the guys got a call. We now think it was a bogus pre-programed call. In stage voices, he said he needed to go. She said she wished he could stay. Then all three went outside AND RAN TO THEIR TWO CARS... and I do mean ran FAST... and drove away!

Not unless you ask me

I will say no
a rather wordy prohibition
but it sounds tougher than just no alone
Yet walls are seldom tough
they simply sit in place

never allowing passage between the two

I'd greatly enjoy visiting you and have my proper Swiss side be irritated by your fluid flexibility. But that will have to wait till the financing is approved. For now I can only afford to meet with people that are in places I travel to anyway (Argentina, Switzerland & New York). Unlike the brave step of Sheri & Jessica to just go forward into things, we won't be starting to film till the whole project is financed.
Meanwhile I'm trying to knit together as tightly as possible on a virtual level the network that will create this film. I am in the process of discovering what there is out there that can be played with to build the mosaic of this film. Therefore, I have a bunch of somewhat technical questions for the two of you:
Frank:
Who is the commune in Massachusetts where you were "channeling" Reed?
What is their stand on the question of Monogamy? Might they be a worthy point to visit for the film?
Are you still in contact with Suzie Block? Could you connect me to her? Do you have a copy of the tape of your stunt on her show?
In what video format were your performances filmed? What year was the first one filmed?
Are you in contact with Annie Sprinkle? Could you connect me to her?
Are you still in contact with One Taste? Could you connect me to them?
There are a lot of things that are foreign to me... being a foreigner... Balazzo; Noisefest; Kimo; Cherry; Leprechauns. Could you enlighten me?
Did you ever make an edited piece out of the "Erotic Play" materials?
Do you think your neighbors (70s / christian) would be willing to give us a short interview about what they think about you? That could be a sweet moment.
Sheri:
"Jessica - my director/co-creator - is looking for the interview as we speak (she's in possession of them at this time)."
Great, on what format were they shot?
"Once I get them, I'll let you know and if you want them sent somewhere, let me know."
It would be very nice to get a copy. For now the quality doesn't matter, just so I see how the interview feels on the visual level. Could you send it to my New York address below?
Do you remember what year the interview happened?
Do you have the whole interview as on the transcript or did you turn your camera off at some point?
Did you ever put together a mix of their performances?
You say in the interview that you did a bunch of other interviews. Could any of them also be interesting for our film, with other words, were any of them with other people that live in a constellation that goes beyond 2?
Did you ever do the animation you had planned?
"Glad that the interview's ripples are seeing new oceans ;)"
Let's hope I'm more fortunate in getting the financing together. So far it looks good. We got the strongest Swiss producer behind the project. But as you know, filmmaking is a tricky tiger to ride, you can be thrown off at any point of the ride....
Thanks for the link. I haven't had the time yet to watch it. What do you know about Joy Davidson?

the Massachusetts commune was THE BROTHERHOOD OF THE SPIRIT. They don't exist anymore, except as an email list. Most of them were /are reactionary victims of life who thought /think I was /am a carnal devil... Which is ironic because when I was living there, i was still a virgin for most of the time I was there... But I cuddled/played with people on my bed... Hence carnal! There I had my first complete sexual encounters and got married [mainly to nail down the commitment]. The official rule on sex in the community was only in long term relationship. of course there was stretching that policy! [especially among the core group, which I was not in.] I left with my wife because we wanted to focus on our personal relationship and that was beginning to run into conflict with certain commune's factions.
Btw, I was never comfortable with the concept of marriage which is connected to ownership. But "getting married " is a way to define the commitment of the relationship.
when I lived there, 250 people lived there. About two years after I left I went back. I was there for about a hour. I was with two people of my tribal relationship which was then four. When I got on the community email list more than 30 years later, that was apparently still a big scandal for them... How I showed up with two women! Most people are just curious about how such a group relationship works. But the community members on the email list were extremely negative and hostile... Even though apparently there was another triad that came out of the community.
by the "stunt," do you mean the music jam we did at Suzy's? Both Suzy and we videod it. Suzy was my vice presidential candidate when I ran for president. Btw, here is one of the planks of my platform:
Government should leave marriage to churches. Instead, any two or more adults who have been living together for at least 2 years should be able to register as a "family."
well, the first performances that were videod on reel to reel were our Fantasy Costume Parades and free concerts in 1977. but these tapes were stolen. Starting with THE OUTRAGEOUS BEAUTY REVUE, videos of most of my
phases are available. See http://www.eroplay.com/intimatetheater/intimate.html and http://www.eroplay.com/Cave/shaman.html#PerformAnchor. My feature videos are up at :http//www.eroplay.com/feisto/index.html.
Yes, I did used the Erotic Play footage! In fact I made two videos from it... I believe in recycling! Erotic Play turned out to be a documentary of the process of filming it. The Nude Cave is an abstract erotic video which I created the music for.
Annie and Suzy, this is Tomi!
For One Taste, I suggest you google them. I am not on good terms with them. But you should interview them.
as for our neighbor Betty, I suggest you wait until you are actually ready to interview her.
All of those strange words are names of clubs... Except for LEPRECHAUN [little green Irish people] which I used in the title of a saint Patrick day gig. and NOISEFEST is a festival of noise music in sacramento.

“Monogamy?”
This feature length documentary will be a fast paced, funny, at times satirical, but never unscientific exploration of monogamy and its many alternatives. A journey through history, the animal world, different cultures; through past and present, public and personal, failed and successful experiments in freer arrangements between lovers. The filmmakers won’t shy away from exploring the far corners of the Himalayas, from interviewing experts, sexperts and other professionals, as well as from listening in on the opinions of the average Joe & Jane on the street. But there is no reason to do all the legwork ourselves, a wide range of filmed material already exists: From wildlife footage, to excerpts of documentaries, to Hollywood outtakes, it will all flow together into a colorful collage about this controversial and sexy subject.
A lovely chapel, the people in the pews touched by the event, the couple standing in front of the priest in awe. He is about to say his conclusive (and all exclusive) words: Till death do you part… Are they serious, are they really gonna give their word on this? Yes… we are in love… so it’s only natural that “we do”… Natural? Looking at it from a purely statistical point, there is a high probability this marriage will end with affairs and/or visits to prostitutes, and/or in divorce. Maybe because it doesn’t take into account the nature of the beast? More precisely our natural predisposition. Maybe monogamous marriage is an unnatural construct, for most destined to fail— and in the course making many a couple disillusioned and miserable? At least looking at the animal world, this conclusion doesn’t seem too farfetched. We’re one of the very few mammals that tries to stay monogamous.
As far back as we can research, humans always have been polygamous. It was only with the Christians and their new testament that this peculiar concept of one woman, one man, and “forever”, started to be propagated on a broader scale. At first most weren’t convinced—from Muslims to Mormons, many cultures remain polygamous to date.

The only little problem is, that while these cultures take care of the needs and desires of their men, women really get the short end of the stick. There are actually exceptions, even in traditional cultures. For example in the Himalayas where it is common for a woman to have several husbands. Either way around, a system that leaves out the needs of half its members is a frustrating solution. Some groups took “liberté, égalité, fraternité” to heart and started experimenting with free love that respected both sexes. As early as the 1840s the Oneida Community flourished in upper New York. Well, that it ended with the founder, John Humphrey Noyes, claiming to have fathered 300 children in a single year only shows how hard it is to break out of the patriarchal mold of our society… Finally ‘68 came around and accompanied by songs like David Crosby’s “Triad” the lid was blown off for good. Since then many groups have been and still are experimenting with polygamous relations. But there are also many personal “experiments” of famous people like Warren Buffet, Tilda Swinton, etc., and not so famous ones, like Marion and her two men that reside on three floors of a Paris flat. Living on the middle floor Marion brings up two kids, one from each “husband”. These “unsung heroes” have quietly gone about their personal constellations, happily living in ways that society doesn’t sanction. But back to our couple that’s still eagerly awaiting to get married. Are you still sure this is the right, the “natural” thing to do? They hesitate… Don’t worry, maybe we can bring this to a happy end after all. There are actually animals that get married for life, like the penguins. They don’t care all that much if it’s between opposing sexes. Look at this couple of male penguins…. and their egg… a stone. Actually, once you give them a real egg, as they did in 2004 at the Central Park Zoo, they brood it till the baby cracks the hard shell, then bring it up very fatherly. Or look at the swans, they too are married for life. While in the past we believed that that also meant that they only have sex with their partner, DNA tests now show that the eggs they are hatching are actually fertilized by various fathers… Maybe that’s a concept our newlyweds could adopt? Till death do us part we shall be together… and love many others too. Maybe this way the unnatural construct of monogamy could finally be brought to sing its swansong?!

Re: saturday's performance (Erika)
I saw Tom today who was at the performance. He was the guy from Long Island who is traveling. He was People's Park eating food. He said wow about the performance and looked like he was still churning it. Later I went over and gave him some handouts for next months performance so he could give them out to other people. He said that he was still trying to figure it all out and that afterwards he felt emotions that he had never felt before, emotions that did not have words. He said that Frank's writing were right on and that when he was being embraced by Linda, Jen and Erika the words of the poems changed. He said he would come next time if he was around and he wanted to know what kind of Shamanism Frank does. I talked about the direct experience of reality and that he could email Frank to talk with him more. He asked why the performances did not happen more often and I told him about checking out the web site, the Shaman's Den and Luver and how great it was that there was a performance workshop series right now. He said he would tell people about it and come again if he was in town.
